Hello, I’m Julia Grimes and I work with businesses, agencies and non-profits on content and communications that need specialist business and finance knowhow.
From developing content strategies to overhauling client communications and report writing, I can help you harness content to achieve your goals. I do this by cutting through complexity, developing angles that resonate with your audience and writing with clarity.
Who am I?
I’m a former head of content and marketing director with years of writing experience and a track record in creating commercially successful content.
I’ve worked across wealth management, investment, commercial and retail banking as well as for agencies and on financial education for NGOs. Through this experience, I’m comfortable working with diverse stakeholders including senior executives and fund managers, and on content for audiences from institutional to absolute beginner.
Whether it’s big picture or small detail, creative ads or mandatory communications, if it needs words, I like the challenge.
How can I help?
I provide targeted, freelance content support when you need someone who understands your sector and financial regulation but also has solid editorial skills and creativity.
Working across B2B and B2C for global companies through to startups, I’m here to take on projects that you don’t have the capacity or internal capability for or when you need an impartial eye.
I also collaborate with creative agencies, helping win and support investment and financial services clients.

Here I’m your storyteller, helping bring to life your brand and its unique identity. I can work with you on defining your mission, purpose and values, on developing your brand voice and articulating your stories and vision for external and internal audiences.
Thought leadership
Working with businesses and individuals, I develop thought leadership strategies that help you raise your profile and demonstrate expertise in line with your objectives. I also write thought leadership content and advise and collaborate on podcast and other formats.
Content during mergers, acquisitions and rebrands
Having led content programmes during a number of wealth management mergers, acquisitions and rebrands, I can support organisations during times of transition with content auditing, gap analysis, consolidation and new content creation.
Overhauling existing client communications
Organisations often have letters, emails and documents that fall between the cracks, cause friction and affect the bottom line. I work with clients on overhauling these, ensuring they’re clear, targeted, on brand and consistent.
Writing workshops and coaching
With a lack of targeted, commercial writing training available, I run in-house writing workshops and coaching sessions for those who need to write on behalf of their organisation.
I’m based in London and usually work remotely but am happy to collaborate with your in-house teams and existing agencies. And where you need support across digital, design and printing, I have a network of trusted suppliers I can work with.
